Lake Allatoona - Freshwater Fishing Report

This striper and hybrid report fishing report has been brought to you exclusively by Robert Eidson of First Bite Guide Service, 678-363-6260. www.firstbiteguideservice.com Lake Allatoona, Georgia email: [email protected].

Line sides fishing is good and live bait is working good on flat lines, free lines, and planner boards. The best times for this are early morning and late afternoon. During mid day find a point set up over a 30 to 40 foot bottom and use down lines. Most of the fish caught this week came between 24 to 30 feet deep and mid lake is the only place to be right now. Finding fish isn't that hard right now, but finding feeding fish is. If you find a school a fish work them no longer than and hour. If they don't bite find another school. Sometimes you don't have to look 30 to 40 yards from the school you just fished. The big fish are starting to show up. We had one this week that was 44 inches and over 30 pounds and a few more over 20 pounds right before the first of the year. The big fish are eating dollar bill size shad. For the umbrella rig, trolling has slowed down just a little. The 30 pound fish came on a umbrella rig and so did some of the 20 pounder the week before. Call the Dug out for all your umbrella rig needs 770 428-7406 and get your planner boards too. If you live near Dallas and can't get to the Dug Out give me a call. I'll have extra rigs for sale starting next week. Don't forget the boat show next weekend. Come by and say hi.
