Line-side fishing is good, nothing has changed from last week. The upper Etowah is without question the best bite on the lake. I got e-mails and phone calls from different anglers who have been wearing them out up there, anywhere from Fields Landing all the way up to the ballfield in Canton.
I have heard of some really good fish caught up there this week; . But with the river run being so strong this year, so is the boat traffic. But only be about 30% of the fish will be up there. So with that being said, I decided to stay south of midlake, and I've been doing very well.
All of the main creeks are holding fish, and so are the beaches. The water temp is in the low 60s so this is prime for top water. Free-lines, flat-lines and planer boards are working best.
Top water is getting very good right at sun up and right at dark. A 3/8-ounce bucktail will get bit all most every time if you can get it to these busting fish.
For you trollers, the Mack Farr u-rig bite is starting to pick up. A 3-arm loaded with 3/8-ounce jig will get your drags pulled.
