Lake Lanier Striper Fishing

Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

Fishing on Lanier has been good on some days and slow on other days. The mornings we have done well we have seen stripers surfacing in the middle of creeks, or in the backs of coves. 1/2 ounce buck tails or casting flex it spoons have worked well on breaking fish. When the lake seems dead, trolling 4 arm umbrella rigs will produce a couple of bites. Also, down lines fished over a 45-75 foot bottom with the presence of structure will also put fish in the boat. Fish close to the tree line. For the most part when the fish are deeper they are sluggish. Shortening your leaders will greatly increase your chances of getting bit. A variety of baits are working for us: medium shiners, trout, and herring. All we can do is pray for some more consistent weather conditions to get these fish in a set pattern. If we get several days of warmer weather the bite should really turn on. Good Luck everyone, sometimes having a good day this time of year takes a little luck. We still have a few open dates in February. Call 678-634-3408 for booking information. See you on the water.
