Lake Lanier Striper Fishing

Capt. Scott Collins
August 22, 2012
Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

Striper fishing on Lanier is good on most days and fair on others. The best days for us have been sunny and clear. Herring on the downline has been the best bite this week. There is still a trolling bite on lead core fished 5-9 colors with a 1 oz flash foil buck tail. We are finding fish close to main channel points, deep holes, mouths of creeks, and areas containing trees. Some of the schools of Stripers we are finding are huge. If they seem lethargic power reeling through the school will trigger a strike. Not much has changed since my last report. It's a typical summer time pattern on Lanier. The best bite has been South of Browns Bridge to the dam. While Striper fishing we have seen some really big spots coming up, keep a sammy or spook close by for some top water action. We still have a few open dates in September call 678-634-3408 for rates and availability. To see pictures of this weeks catches go to www.gettinluckyfishing.com and click on the reports tab. See you on the water.
