Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

Thanksgiving Day was an afternoon bite we sat on large schools of inactive Stripers until 11:00. Then some one rang the dinner bell and the fish began to eat. We boated many stipers that were 8-12 pounds, and a few nice sized bass. The Stripers tend to be running anywhere from 10 feet to 35 feet below the boat. There was very little top water activity early on, but mid-day there were Stripers rolling up beneath diving birds. Most of the fish we are catching are coming off humps, and main lake points. The go to bait has been herring and trout.

December is a month known for a great Striper Bite. Winter time is my favorite time of year to fish. I still have open dates in December. See you on the water.
