Slaying Stripers on Lanier

Capt. Scott Collins
July 1, 2009
Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

With more stable conditions the last few days the Down line bite on Lanier is on fire. Stripers can be found along deep banks, main lake points, and humps. These fish are tightly schooled, and laying low around the edges of tree lines. Best fishing continues to be the Mid-Lake area. We're marking Stripers suspended 25-50 feet below the boat. Drop down on these fish and hold on because the big ones are heading strait for standing timber. Summer time is here and is the best time of year to catch good numbers of Stripers on Lake Lanier. Spotted bass continue to hit top water early , and move to brush piles mid-day. See You on the water.
