Good Striper Fishing on Lanier

Capt. Scott Collins
July 17, 2012
Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

Striper Fishing
Striper fishing on Lake Lanier has been great. The good thing about this time of year is the fish bite all day. Some times the best bite has been in the middle of the day. We are catching Stripers trolling lead core fished out 5-7 colors. The lead core bite has been consistent everyday. At times the schools of fish we have been finding are huge, whether your trolling or down-lining, it is not uncommon to double up. The best places to find fish are mid-lake and south. Focusing on the mouths of creeks containing deep brush are good areas to locate Stripers. We are open all day. We still have a couple of open dates in July.

Spotted Bass
Fishing for Spotted bass has been very good. Brush piles in 20-35 feet of water are holding bass. We have been doing great drop shotting these brush piles. Bass trips are also available. It's a fun way to catch numbers on ultra lite tackle. Call 678-634-3408 for rates and availability. Lake Lanier Fishing Forecast:

The afternoon bite should continue to pick up.
