Summer Time Stripers on Lanier

Lake Lanier - Freshwater Fishing Report

The Stripers continue to be scattered out, mainly out side the creek channels, smashed right up against the bank hammering thread fin shad. This is the recipe for some really exciting top water action. The bite is finally starting to pick up. We have been boating many Stripers 6-12 pounds, on flatlines, and top water plugs. For live bait use herring, med. shiners, and Gizzard shad 6 to 12 inches with a stinger hook. If a fish takes the Gizzard hold on, it's usually going to be a big one 20-30 pounders tend to bite this time of year. Slow rolling swim baits has produced some really big spotted bass this week. It's the best time of year to catch good numbers of Stripers on Lanier and my favorate summer time hotspot. Call me if your interested in booking a trip. I have acouple of dates open next week.
