Crappie Times

Capt. Doug Nelms
January 30, 2018
Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report

Its the time of year when the broke necks appear! I'm talking about huge crappie, big girls, mongos, slabaroonis ..whatever you call them, they have began their annual migration on Lake Oconee. I just love this time of year. I get to fill our freezer with these wonderful morsels, and I watch customers catch the fish of a life time. On my boat, February and March are mainly devoted to crappie fishing. We are spider rigged with long poles, slow drifts and strong pull downs. Book your trip right now, because it will fill up fast!
