Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report

It is official that crappie fishing is in full swing on Lake Oconee. These wonderful fish did the same thing last year, by showing up so early. I guess with the hot summertime over, the fish are hungry and excited about the cooler days and dropping water temps. Several fish over 2 pounds and even a few 3's have been caught already this year, and if this holds true, it may be the best season we have had in a while. That is saying a lot, since this is the best lake in the world for crappie fishing; my humble, personal opinion of course. The stripers are showing up in River Bend and around the Hwy 44 bridge, I -20 Bridge and North Sugar Creek. If you are interested in a trip, give me a call at 770 354 0300, or visit our website at www.bigfishheads.com to book your trip.
