Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report

Most of you understand that my bread and butter, so to speak, is hybrid and striper fishing. However here lately all we have been talking about is how good the crappie fishing is. It is really good, no kidding, and for a lot of you anglers who don't think that catching crappie can be exciting, you need to come out and just watch it one time.
Lifting 2 plus pound slabs into a boat, while there are 3 other rods plunging down into the water, can be a great challenge. Honestly, my wrist are so sore from just setting the hook on these things over the past few days, I am kind of looking forward to the hybrids.
Ok, once again the fish are in Lick Creek, Sugar Creek, 19th hole and Grayson Whites Cove. They are also up the Apalachee, where you will see that I spend the most time. As the full moon approaches they should get right up on the bank and you will catch them by fishing no deeper than 2 feet down. The next 4 trips that I take are exclusively for crappie, but I hear the hybes have just started showing up at the dam. I will be after them shortly.
Access Oconee is rocking and rolling! What is it you may ask? A.O. is a subscription service that gives you real time information on where the fish are biting. Daily, updated fishing reports on your email and your phone. It is great for the weekend fisherman because you don't have to spend the day looking for the fish, which eats into your valuable time to catch fish. We all go fishing because we enjoy it, but it is much better when we catch fish. A.O. gives you all the information you need to do that, for only pennies a day. Go to my website at www.fishingoconee.com and click on the link to Access Oconee.
I still have a couple of days left to book for crappie fishing, so give me a call. It soon will be over!
