Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report

The water temp is 89 degrees when the sun comes up and it has made the fishing the best of times and the worse of times. Because the oxygen content is not great, the fish are taking the best opportunity to feed, which is early morning when the pumpback is going on and the bait are all bunched up. It takes little effort to feed and they are taking advantage of it, but as soon as the current ends, so does the bite.
But while the action is happening, you can load the boat with some very nice fish. We are throwing all artificial lures and to watch them attack on top water will make your heart stop. The fish are from the dam all the way up to the Bull Hole. By 9:00 the bite will considerably slow down. Call me if you are ready to book a trip. 770 354 0300
