The U-Rig Bite is just unbelievable!

Capt. Doug Nelms

Lake Oconee - Freshwater Fishing Report

Our late Spring, Umbrella Rig bite is in full swing on Lake Oconee and we are seeing some very nice fish come to the boat. This is what I call the "Fish Fry" Bite. We can go out an catch a cooler full of fish in just a half day. Of course, it is completely up to if you want to keep fish. Many people just enjoy catching them and releasing, but for all of you that enjoy "catching" more than "fishing", this is your time. If you would like to book a trip, just contact me and we will set it up. Looking forward to fishing with you.

His boat is a Ranger 2300 Bay Series powered by a 225 Yamaha 4-stroke motor. It is spacious and can fish up to 6 people! During the hot summer months he heads to the Chattahoochee River to pursue monster Striped bass. He fishes from a custom jet boat, built exclusively for fishing the river.
