Inshore fishing St Simons Island

St. Simons Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Andy for St. Louis fished with me today we found some clean water and went to work on the trout. The trout bite was really strong this morning there were a lot of smaller fish but also had some nice keeper trout. We fished the low incoming tide so most of the spots I hit were shelled covered points and all of the fish were in 4-6ft of water and most of them were sitting off the bank a pretty good ways. We caught most of the fish on live shrimp under a popping cork and also caught a good bit on Berkley Gulp shrimp new penny in color on a jig head. They were biting fast and hitting the baits hard some spots it every cast. The water around St Simons Island sound is still a little dirty so we headed south where the water looked a lot better we had no problem picking out a place to stop.
