Spring Trout Bite

Capt. Jeff Stokes
March 13, 2012
St. Simons Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

I fished today in the back rivers of the St. Simons sound and some behind Jekyll Island. We fished for about 4 hrs mostly in water ranging 3-8 ft,water temp was around 65 degrees and the water condition was cloudy. We used live shrimp under a popping cork and ended up with 15 trout and alot of smaller throw back but they were alot of fun also. The spring bite is stating out stong and cant wait to see what the rest of the year will be.

St. Simons Island Fishing Forecast:

The best is yet to come with the mild winter we had the fish never went to far and the bite is already going stong.

Target Species:

Trout
