St Simons Island Fishing

Capt. Jeff Stokes
July 17, 2013
St. Simons Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Despite all of the fresh water that has invaded the area the trout bite has been really strong. Some places have been over run with the smaller trout but there are still alot of places holding some really good size trout.

Redfish have also been pretty strong there have been huge schools of redfish on the flats with most of the redfish over the slot limit.

Triple Tail !!! The triple tail are still here most of them have moved off the beaches and come inland. Most of the triple tail caught have been in the 10-15 pound range really nice fish and put up a great fight !!!!

All the fish have either been caught on live shrimp under a popping cork or bumping gulp shrimp along the bottom.
