St. Simons Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Finally, finally there is a trolling bite offshore!
The Kingfish took a leave of absence early in the season and finally decided to get back to work.
Usually the deep sea fishing in GA provides a nice mix of bottom fishing and trolling opportunity but until the last week or so, the bottom fishing has had to hold down the fort on its own.
Luckily the best fishing of the year is right around the corner with some great Trout and Redfishing as well as some awesome offshore fishing.
We've seen a steady supply of Trout and Redfish and one of the best years for Flounder that I have ever seen. I can't wait to see what the Fall has in store for us.
We're still catching Sharks by the dozens and the Tarpon are here but we're having to work for the bait. It's no big deal because when you do find the bait, you also find the fish. It's worth the extra effort.
There have also been some Sailfish somewhat close to land. The Golden Isles Kingfish Tournament had several hook ups on the Sails.
St. Simons Island Fishing Forecast:

Get ready for a Redfish rendezvous! The Trout and Reds are about to fire off. Late September to early December is the time to be here for Trout, Redfish, and Bull Redfish.
The offshore fishing in Georgia will be great as well with Grouper and Snapper inching their way closer to shore.
