Catching Bull Reds in Vernice Louisiana

Capt. Shawn Lanier
July 11, 2012
Venice - Saltwater Fishing Report

July 11th report

I may sound like a broken record as far as my fishing reports go, but we are wacking the Redfish in the main channel of the Mississippi river. Bass too. The river remains low, so we have been drifting the sides of the river casting spinner baits, diving hard plastics, and soft plastics under a popping cork. This last week we would catch a limit of eating Reds in the river , then head to the outside waters for the big Bull Redfish. There are some Bulls in the river as well. We head to the house after fishing where we clean fish, get ready for the next day, drink beer while we are cooking, then eat and go to bed. Then we get up early the next day and do it again. It's been a great year and I have had some really fun clients to fish and hang out with. It is hard work, but a real blast. Call me if you want to get in on it. Thanks, Capt. Shawn Lanier.
