Venice - Saltwater Fishing Report
September 7 Report
Hurricane Issac got us off the water down here for a while, but I am back in business starting tomorrow. Fortunately, the area of Boothville-Venice did not flood and have a bunch of damage. Thankful for the protection.South Plaquemines was spared from disaster for most. About a 25 mile stretch north of Port Sulphur got flooded and beat up. We all will deal with it and move on.
We had been catching a lot of big Redfish before the storm (up to 29 lbs. the week before ). We also caught a Triple Tail and saw some more in the Mississippi River. This is the time of year when the Speckled Trout start migrating back to the beaches and bays. Once September rolls by, October is when the Trout are thick in the river, as well as the Redfish. This continues until the first of the year. I still have some days open for these times. So, come on down to my place, and get in on some great inshore fishing.
Update September 10th: Power and water are back on, so we are open for business! Come on down!
