Florida - Summer is Coming

Capt. Joe Drosey
May 25, 2010
Ocean City - Saltwater Fishing Report

As we move into the summer season, the fishing has remained consistent, with most charters being a half day. KINGFISH average 10-25 lbs with folks catching 1-2 fish per person. There have been some kings at 40-50 lbs. We caught a 65.5 kingfish in May!!

When you get an east wind, the DOLPHIN (mahi) have been plentiful - see pic of a young angler. There are still sailfish around - we have been having 2-5 opportunities per trip. In addition, COBIA have been mixed in, as well as SHARKS - Spinner and Bull.

In a 5-day trip to the Bahamas (tournament) - we saw very good fishing with 20-40 lb dolphin, some blue marlin, white marlin and sailfish.

We're heading north to OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND in early June. Give us a call -- Tuna, Marlin, Sharks, Dolphin, Wahoo, and Swords --- are what we'll be fishing for from June through October.

Thanks for a great 2010 Florida season.
