Fishing Report - Massachusetts Bay and Cape Cod

Stellwagen Bank - Saltwater Fishing Report

Wolf Fish on Stellwagen Bank and the bluefin tuna are hitting!!!

Positive side of things...my customers today landed three nice wolffish. Fishing conditions were excellent, but the pick of haddock was pretty slow everywhere we fished, and we fished about 40 different spots, from 150' of water to 300' over a wide area. It was a bit frustrating for me, not getting the fish to cooperate, but that's fishing. The weather was perfect and the ride out and back was excellent--and excellent at 30+ mph. We covered a lot of miles.

The customers were great and I really enjoyed their company for the day. The encouraging news was the chatter about the tuna that we heard all day. It sounded like a great day on Stellwagen Bank for the tuna crowd. I'll be out there myself personally on Father's Day!

On the tackle front, Joel St. Germain brough himself a beauty of a reel for codfishing---an Okuma Titus Gold TG15S. Amazingly smooth and pretty awesome. It's about the same size as a Penn 113H, but the lever drag, smoothness, gear ratio, and cranking power blow it away. My new goal: Equip the boat with them!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

We're the small charter specialists for private 1-4 person groups and shared charters. We fish where the fish are--cod/haddock on Stellwagen Bank, huge sea bass in Buzzards Bay, bluefin tuna on Stellwagen Bank, sharks off of Martha's Vineyard and Wildcat Knoll, Stripers off of Provincetown. We have a great website; visit us often and meet us as friends. We have lots of fun out there and cater to both the novice and veteran alike. Our rates are great and you don't have to get 6 people!!
