HEADLINES: December 14, 2015
JC, Chris and Fish Report Boy Involved in a bar room brawl in a seedy Cabo cantina:
JC sat at the bar and was staring into his cheap glass of Mexican beer listening to Besame Mucho on the old Phono, as he flipped his ashes from his Raligh onto the bar room floor. Chris shouted: ¨JC you seem a little down, whats wrong with you¨? JC laughed and said: ¨Chris your my best friend and you don't know whats wrong with me¨? Its all about the MARLIN buddy. That what we are Chris!!! ¨Marlin freaks and we cant get it out of our blood¨. My life is MARLIN Chris? Are you with me Buddy? Chris lovingly responded: ¨JC my dear friend, I am with you, we are the best Marlin fisherman in Cabo and everyone knows it!!!
Fish Report Boy was a little tipsy by now and was finished scamming some old man out of 100 pesos on one of the pool tables but he was listening to JC and Chris chat. Fish Report Boy screamed: ¨Why don't you to love birds kiss and make up, what a bunch of lies about being the best Marlin fisherman in the area, you clowns go out fishing and take a case of beer a piece and then you get into that stupid game you like to play ¨MARLIN JEOPARDY¨ Then you get mad if you don't win JC, its all JC this JC that, im sick of hearing your name!!!
JC shouted: Pipe down you lil squirt, I rescued you from poverty in Arkansa and gave you a job, remember?
The bartender Juan had really had enough of JC ranting and raving in his dirty cantina, and told JC and his crew to get out!!
JC asked Juan if he wanted to scuffle? Well that's all it took, Juan stood up and bitched slapped JC and knocked the little worm off his bar stool, Chris started screaming like a lil Bluebird and Fish Report Boy ran for a pool cue and was swinging like a mad man.
JC the athelete he is, scrambeled to his feet and caught Juan with a Uncle Ikes Chinese Telephone Wrap Around Clutch hold and Juan responded with a move JC didn't see coming, the Mexican Midget Chickenwing Suicide Leg lock. In the mean time Chris was watching the action from behind the bar and was screaming!!!. JC, JC use Mad Mountain Mikes Atomic Japanese stranglehold, in which JC managed to put Juan into. Juan was getting ready to break loose when all the sudden FISH REPORT BOY appeared and cold cocked Juan with the pool stick.

Chris, the wimp that he is screamed: come on guys lets get out of this place. JC struggled to his feet and along with FISH REPORT BOY ran out of the seedy cantina. The boys went home with another story to tell about Marlin fishing and living in the quiet fishing Village of Cabo San Lucas!!!
Legends and Lies of JC Continues

Jc Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have a memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well lets get on with the fishing report for this past week.

WEATHER: Still the same old great weather, really what can I say!!!! You cant beat this time of year for Cabo weather it is one of the best times of year for coming to Mexico and specifically Cabo San lucas. We have been having day time highs in the low to mid 80,s and the lows at night in the low to mid 60,s. Its really nice and we could even stand for it to get a Little cooler son.

WATER: It is finally starting to get cooler in most areas of our fishing grounds, which we think has helped the Dorado bite some. It is cooling but there is still pockets of warm water around still. Check out the Tempbreak map link below.
http://www.tempbreak.com/index.php?&cwregion=cb

BILLFISH: Well it was bound to happen and the Marlin fishing has really slowed as of last week. We have really been having a great season with lots of Billfish of all kinds. The Sailfish action this year has been fantastic and so has Blue and Striped Marlin. The thing about Cabo is it can be slow one day and the next day its gangbusters. We know the Marlin fishing will rebound over the next few days so get on down to Cabo because the weather is fantastic and who knows you might get that Marlin of a lifetime, allow us to help your dream come true.

DORADO: It has really been OFF the HOOK for Dorado over the last week and we are loving the action in shore and offshore, its pretty wide open and the water is cooling down, which is helping the bite we think. The fishing from the Light House to the inside of the Golden Gate about 1 to 2 miles off the beach is where the action has been. The Dorados are hitting lures, ballyhoo and live bait and the sizes are good with some of our boats landing fish from 25lbs to 35lbs.
SWORDFISH: Hasn't heard of any caught this week.

WAHOO: Still, like last week there has been some Wahoo action but it has kind of been hit and miss. A few decent size Wahoo up and around Grey Rock were caught in the last few days but really nothing major or off the hook. Try using purple Rapalas, these seem to work well.

TUNA: The Tuna fishing has been decent over last week with good action using King Busters up and around San Jamie Banks and the Horseshoe area. I seems one day is really good and the next not to much action, but they are really scattered all over the place in small schools.

INSHORE: Good numbers of Rooster Fish and Dorada, it has been really good lately and this isn't even normal for this time of year . Dorado has finally started to get pretty good, even inshore. Normally we see Roosters and Sierras in the warmer summer months but it seems they are here early this year. Both are really good fighters offering quite the fight when you hook into one of them. Try live bait for the Rooster Fish from the Solmar to the Pump House. We had one day where we enticed and landed 4 all ranging in the 12 to 16lbs range. Great fighters and lots of fun to catch. Another species we are running into now are the Sierras and those are being taken on Hootchies from the Solmar to the Rancho Migrino area.

JC,s Baja Grilled Oysters!!

8 fresh oysters in shells

1/3 cup Fresh lemon juice

3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

hot pepper sauce to taste

salt to taste

Add all ingredients to list

1. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. You may assemble your ingredients while the grill heats up.
2. Place the whole oysters on the hot grill. Cook until they open, 5 to 10 minutes - you will hear the juice sizzling on the hot coals when this happens.
3. Remove the oysters from the grill, and pry off the top shell. You may want to wear some heavy gloves to protect from the heat. Slide a knife between the oyster and shell to disconnect. Top each one with 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce and salt to taste. Serve in the shell while still warm.

JC,s Baja Grilled Oysters with Spicy Tarragon Butter!
Directions
INGREDIENTS
• 2 sticks (1/2 pound) unsalted butter, softened
• 3 tablespoons chopped tarragon
• 2 tablespoons hot sauce
• 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
• 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
• 3 dozen medium to large oysters, such as Baja Coast rock Oysters.
HOW TO MAKE THIS RECIPE
1. Light a grill. In a food processor, pulse the butter with the tarragon, hot sauce, salt and pepper until blended. Transfer the tarragon butter to a sheet of plastic wrap and roll it into a 2-inch-thick log. Refrigerate the butter until slightly firm, about 15 minutes. Slice the butter into 36 pats.
2. Place the oysters on the hot grill, flat-side up. Cover the grill and cook until the oysters open, about 5 minutes. Using tongs, transfer the oysters to a platter, trying to keep the liquor inside. Quickly remove the top shells and loosen the oysters from the bottom shells. Top each oyster with a pat of tarragon butter and return the oysters to the grill. Cover the grill and cook until the butter is mostly melted and the oysters are hot, about 1 minute. Serve right away.
MAKE AHEAD
The tarragon butter can be refrigerated for 5 days.

JC,s Baja Wahoo Whiskey King Buster with Pomegranate!!
2 oz whisky
1⁄2 oz pomegranate liqueur
2 oz limeade
Raspberries for garnish

1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add all ingredients. Shake and strain into rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with raspberries.

BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs? You don't want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking, your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of a fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in the next weeks fishing report. Until next time good fishing and we hope to see you in Cabo soon. Come by the office here in Cabo and get all the latest up to date fishing report.
