Stop by Our Office for up to Date Fishing Report.

WOW ITS JUNE 1, 2014 ALREADY AND SUMMER IS HERE
Fishing is going to get good as the water warms and the Blues start to move into our area and also Dorado and Wahoo will get good over the summer months so we are all excited and ready to go. You might think about booking your fishing charter for a once in a lifetime fishing adventure in Cabo, but it doesn't have to be once in a lifetime as we are only about 2 hours from lots of major US cities lik LA, Denver, Phoniex, San Jose, San Fransisco ect ect ect. You got the picture!! Call us for reservation or book over the website.

Jc Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well lets get on with the fishing report for this past week.
WEATHER: Day times have been hot and over the last day or so we have had a little over cast due to storm out to sea hurricane Amanda which I think has since broke up and is gone. The highs are around mid 90,s and lows are about low 70,s to mid 70,s. It has been warm and nice most of the year with a few cool nights in January and February but that's about it.
WATER: Mostly calmer seas with waves 2 to 4 feet on the pacific and 1 to 3 feet on the Sea of Cortez side with water temperatures warming up and pretty consistent throughout our area.
TUNA: I don't have any reports on Tuna as they are pretty much nonexistent right now and were hoping for some schools to show .
BILLFISH: Well the Marlin fishing has been pretty tough as there are lots of Marlin and I mean lots of Marlin cause yesterday we saw like 40 Marlin basically sleeping on top of the water and none of them were hungry or hitting anything. We threw all we had at them like like live bait and then we slow trolled baits and lures but nothing. It seems as if the storm that was out to sea may have had something to do with them not wanting to bite. We did see lots of flying fish out there also so maybe all the Marlin are full they just did not want to bite. Maybe just to much food out there for them to bite on right now. Most reports of fish being caught were 8 miles off the Light House on pacific side. Well we will see what this coming week brings us.
DORADO: The Dorado fishing has been pretty slow and we have been catching only one or two nice fish per day and most are 20 to 30lbs but most of them haven't been keepers. Lots of very small Dorado about the size of Rainbow Trout being caught by the Pangas fishing close to shore.
INSHORE: The inshore fishing has been really slow over the past week with a few small Roosters from Grey Rock up to the Pump House on live bait. As I mentioned also lots of Trout size Dorado close to shore being landed by the Pangas but not keepers really. Even know some of the Pangas are killing them they should be releasing them back for we can fish for them another day when they are keeper size. The Dorado grow super fast so if these guys would just let them get bigger by summer they would be keepers in the 10lb to 12lb range.
WAHOO: A few Wahoo this past week but really not to many that I have heard of over the week.
From The Admirals Kitchen
Grilled Wahoo Fish Recipe
From Jerrys Kitchen @What's Cookin'
1 lb of Wahoo Fish Cut into chunks or steaks
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice from 1 fresh lemon sliced
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoons finely ground fresh pepper
Cooking :
Whisk together olive oil, lime and lemon juice, paprika, and red pepper in a small bowl. Place wahoo in a dish. Pour the marinade mix over the fish, place in refrigerator, and let stand for half an hour add sliced lemons on top. Remove wahoo from fridge, place fish on skewers or steaks directly on the grill and grill for 15 minutes on medium turning once at about 8 minutes. Use the leftover marinade mix to baste the fish while it is grilling. Serving suggestions on plain white rice or rice almondine marsala.

BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs? You dont want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in next weeks fishing report. Until next time good fishing and we hope to see you in Cabo soon. Come by the office here in Cabo and get all the latest up to date fishing report. http://www.jcsportfishing.com http://youtu.be/Ld4X16bFT-c
