Bay St. Louis - Saltwater Fishing Report

I have been fishing with a few good folks the last couple of days. Thursday I woke up and could not believe how calm it was, had I known we would have gone across. I took the safe bet and planned for the wind, and Eric and daughter Emily had a great time. Everything caught was released to live another day. We managed to catch 20-25 black drum, we lost count after 15 so we figured it was more than twenty. At the end of the day, right before the end of the tide, we got in a few speckled trout. Caught 10 keepers and a few throw backs. We called it a day with no fish in the box and happy faces.

Friday I had John who was looking to relax for the day. Started the day early and were in the marsh before the sun had broke the horizon. I started with a suspending bait and John started with a top-water. We quickly got into a few trout who could not resist my pink twitch bait. John quickly switched to live bait and and started to catch a few. We fished five spots caught great fish at every stop. Some in clean water, dirty rough water, calm, and deep water. Some were on hard baits, plastics, live shrimp, under a cork and on the bottom. John's favorite plastic was the old green beetle, mine the clear with blue flake Marsh Works. We ended the day with 50 trout ranging from 1-4lbs and a few released bulls.

Give me a call if you are looking to fish 228-493-9743, we have a few opening this week, I do not know what the weather brings, but you cant catch fish if you don't try!
