Redfish, trout, black drum and flounder from Bay St. Louis, MS

Capt. Matt Tusa
March 29, 2010
Bay St. Louis - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fished Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this past week. FYI had somone bail on this weekend and we have boats open if anyone wants to go fishing Saturday or Sunday. On with the report... Friday was Margaret Ladner and Matt Thompson from Diamondhead. Two really good friends of mine that I brought along to find some new areas. Found a few reds some trout and some sheaphead. Fun day with some old friends. Been using a lot of dead shrimp. Still using the popping corks but tipping everything until the water gets over 65 degrees. Makes a big difference if the water is choppy and or dirty. Saturday was the C.C. and Jim. We spent most of the morning easing and pecking. Was not until noon that we found the reds and drum in one pond on the east side of the LA Marsh. The water cleaned up and C.C. picked off a few sight casting. Called Capt Matt in on it and looked like our fish swam over to his boat. Sporty ride in, but the Big Hydra Sport did well. Sunday was Joel Myrick and friends. Had to fish leeward banks due to the wind. Fished for a few hours for a couple of trout, some ground mullet and rat reds. Wind played a factor in ever day. Having to adjust to different direction makes it challenging but you get to cover alot of ground. Really liking the Marsh Works Shrimp on the 3/8th ounce jig head to the popping cork. Yes, we do have trips open for This Saturday and Sunday if anyone wants to go
