Gulfport - Saltwater Fishing Report
March has been living up to its usual unpredictability. One minute/day dead calm the next 20-30 mile per hour gale pounding anyone who was brave enough to challenge the Months temperament.
But of late, it has been fairly calm and pleasant. Cool mornings leading into excellent temperatures for any fisherman to enjoy and wish for on later outings.
But it isn't just the weather that has been great. The White Trout and the Ground Mullets are back on the reefs. In great numbers and eager for most any bait you through. From Market Shrimp (Dead) to Cut Bait, you can fill an ice chest in little to no time.
If you are looking to "Fill Your Freezer", these are the species that can help you accomplish your goal. With Sheepshead and Black Drum cruising around you won't miss out on any drag pulling fight either.
Some Reds are still cruising the ponds like a pack of sea wolves, and when you find one usually everyone on board can cast near you fish and hook up.
This is a very diverse time of year don't miss out!
