Gulfport - Saltwater Fishing Report

Back Bay still Producing Fish!
Though colder temperatures are trying to set in, but fishing is great on Back Bay and other area River Systems.
The Pascagoula River is producing fairly good numbers of trout with occasional trips limiting out. The Reds are scattered but not that hard to find if you are willing to put in some time and troll the banks of the interior marsh. Best bet location is Crooked Bayou producing both Reds and Speckle Trout,
For the sheer numbers of fish for the “Ice Chest Hotel”, the Back Bay Biloxi estuary is the near shore place to be. Slow trolling is producing some large 5-6 pound trout with the occasional Red. School Trout (Trout under the 14” legal limit) are everywhere and can give you some great action. The Black Drum and Sheepshead are so thick it is hard NOT to find them. These two species are great fighters and provide a lot of excitement. These fish are starting to stack up at the bridges and love both Live and Market (dead) Shrimp. The White Trout and Flounders are thinning out but are still making their presence known.
Christmas is upon us and everyone is busy including me. If you can get away and wet a line make it happen. You won’t be disappointed!
