Gulfport - Saltwater Fishing Report

Everything is back to normal around here. Surprisingly there is still a large quanity of baitfish both in mullet and menhaden. It appears that a fall pattern is starting to take place. Though there are still White Trout and Ground Mullet on the Katrina Reef, there are some fairly large Specks in attendance for the early AM top water bite.
The Flounder are beginning to stage in the mouths of several Bayous as is typical for their fall fattening. Those of us who flounder at night from our boats don't have to venture far to limit out on some large platter sized Flounders. And the rod and reel bite is a little more frequent than incedental, in fact in some of the skinny clear water Bayous and bays it is possible to sight fish for flounder with jigs and spoons.
The Reds are reved up for action! With a little exploration you can limit out in a hurry. Not to mention the incendental Specks and Flounders you will pick up on the way. This is a great time to pound the banks of the interior marshes ans well as the small islands in our local river estuaries.
Fall is on the horizon, and the fish love it as much as us. Now is the time to book your late October and November Trip. This is the time and the season to be on the water. Don't miss your chance. Give us a call and let us book you Fall Trip!
