Gulfport - Saltwater Fishing Report

Feels like spring is nearing its peak. Highs are tipping into 80's. But the gentle sea breezes make for an excellent day on the water with very calm conditions.
The Speckle Trout are a little scattered but beginning to congregate around the Katina Reef and other offshore structure. The Ground Mullet and White Trout are everywhere on all of the reefs inshore and offshore. All one has to do is just go fishing to fill an ice chest with these species. The Flounders are just beginning to show themselves but are more of an incidental bonus catch rather than a targeted species, this time of year. Bait is beginning to show up everywhere and cruising reds are following the bait schools.
On the Pascagoula, some large trout are showing themselves. Typical patterns are starting to emerge and early morning top water is producing some exciting, highly visible action. And the Reds are as active as ever and just beginning to make their presence known for those of us who like to stalk and pound the banks.
The time is now and the coast is the destination to be. Let's go fishing!
