Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Yeah, I know it's been a while since a report, but I've been fighting a cold and sinus infection and trying to kill a few ducks on locally guided hunts.

Duck hunting has been a bit slow, but today I finally ran a late afternoon fishing charter in the Back Bay of Biloxi. Only having a few hours to fish in strong southerly winds, well, it was a quick run to the black drum holes.
My guests were a great bunch of gentlemen including Barry Cottrell, Tate Woods, Richard Flores, Sam Moreau, and Robert Ortego.
With a strong incoming tide the bite was extremely slow to my suprise, but we stuck it out and fished into darkness. The best bite came late, and two of the gentlemen hooked into some monster black drum, 30-pounds or better, but they were cut off on structure.
They got a kick out of their power never the less. Having been away from fishing for a while it was good to get back into the saddle and put a mess of fish aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS.
Although the conditions looked ideal and I expected a much hotter bite, well, the guys managed to land 10 or so black drum and a nice sheepshead. Bottom line, it was a short but fun trip, caucht a few fish, and had a lot of laughs. And that's what fishing is all about!
