Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Ran a couple of short trips over the Labor Day weekend, and despite threating weather all around managed to catch my clients a mess of fish.
On Saturday I had brothers Terry and David Stapleton from Atlanta, GA, and in a 3-hour tip they simply hammered the white trout on popping corks and live shrimp.

A number of high-leaping ladyfish added to the action too. We left at 12:30 and was back at the D'Iberville Matina by 3:30.
Just how fast was the fish catching? Well, they had 96 trout still alive in the live well when we got back to the dock.
Heck, it was just a 7-minute to the oyster reef from the dock for that matter. Bottom line, great guys, a lot of fish catching, and we dodged the thunderstorms.
Back on Monday picked up another trip with Tom and Sue Manthey from Chattanooga, TN, more great people. Made a stop at an oyster reef, and there they quickly put 40 white trout in the box.
With a break in the weather I decided to give them a quick run to the west end of Horn Island.
There, Tom landed his first Florida pompano, and they battled all of the ladyfish the cared to confront.

Ran back into the Back Bay of Biloxi and put 12 more white trout in the box to finish off the outing. Take home fish: 52 white trout and a nice Florida pompano.
Have plenty of openings now that the kids are back in school, but I am setting on go with plenty of good fishing prospects for September and October.
Just give me a shout and we'll go catch some fish!
Regards and many thanks to all,
Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
Mississippi Sound Fishing Forecast:

September and October will be wide open for all sorts of fish. Inshore and barrier islands will be the hot fishing grounds for the next 2 months. Florida pompano, my speciality, will be prowling the barrier island's flats, along with bull redfish, sharks, and jack crevalles.
The white trout bite mixed with a few speckled trout will remain strong in the nearshore waters over reeds and wrecks too. Plus, the cooler the weather get the better the bit on black drum, sheepshead, and redfish will become in the inshore waters.
Target Species:

redfish, Florida pompano, sharks, white trout, Spanish mackerel, black drum, ladyfish, bluefish
