Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

SATURDAY - This weekend delivered a hot bite at the barrier islands. On Saturday my clients David Allen, Nicole Allen, Dave Allen, and Nick Horne hammered the reds and pompano at Ship Island.

In the shallows, a bit murky, the group put the smack on some beautiful pompano and bull reds.

When the smoke cleared the ice chest was full, and their final tally for the day included 3 big bull reds, 9 Florida pompano, 30 white trout, 2 nice specks, and 2 ground mullet.

SUNDAY - On this day my clients were Skipper Zimmerman from Alabama and his son Shaw. Oh what a day of light tackle fishing they experienced!

This father and son duo caught and released 2 big black drum, and boxed 14 Florida pompano, 7 beautiful slot redfish, 1 door mat flounder, 20 white trout, and 3 nice specks.

The water cleared in the afternoon, and in the crystal clear shallows a flurry of pompano ended the magnificent day of fish catching at the isles.
