Biloxi, MS Charter Boat Fishing - Pompano Are In!

Capt. Robert L. Brodie
April 30, 2009
Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Made a run to the barrier islands south of Mississippi's mainland yesterday, and my comeback client Don Thomason of Alabama and I simply had a blast.

This was to be a short trip, and lucky for us the bite was fast and furious. After getting settled in just inside a breaking surf, well, it was game on with redfish, Florida pompano, and gulf kingfish.

Wore Don out with a constant bite on his hands, and we were fishing multiple rods making it all the more exciting.

When it was time to head home we had an ice chest filled with 6 beautiful redfish, 3 Florida pompano (one a 3-pound specimen), and 3 big gulf kingfish a.k.a. "whiting".

The trip was short and sweet, and we made it back to my house early to get Don's fish cleaned up. He was heading back to Alabama with a mess of fine fillets in no time.

Looks like things are about to bust loose here in south Mississippi, and although the waters are quite turbid I've still managed to find some nice fish.

The inshore waters haven't been producing much at all, still quite muddy. It's even been hard to find sheepshead and black drum in those chocolate looking waters, but if we get some relief from the constant winds things might get better inshore.

However, look for the nearshore fishing to get really hot as soon as the winds settle, with white trout, ground mullet, and some fine speckled trout dominating the nearshore bite.

Hey, it's all good, so be sure to book a trip aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS soon as you can.

Stop reading about other anglers fishing trips, and create some top-notch fishing memories of your own.
