Biloxi, MS Charter Boat Fishing - Tripletail Triple The Fun!

Capt. Robert L. Brodie
June 9, 2009
Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Beautiful weather and a fair bite made for a fun day of light tackle fishing aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS for Jay Samander, his 7-year-old son Abraham a.k.a. "AJ", and his 13-year-old son Josh.

Jay never worries about loading the ice chest with fish, just enough for a meal or two and he's satisfied. Man does that take the pressure off of me!

Started out with Josh landing a couple of 3-foot sharks on 10-pound-test, followed by a big sow speckled trout, a few nice Spanish mackerel, and plenty of hard fighting bluefish.

The boys wanted to go to the island, so it was off to Ship Island's gorgeous gin-clear clear shallows and sun-bleached shores.

There the boys had a blast, and a nice speckled trout, flounder, and redfish fell for a Mr. Champ tossed into the shallows. An inshore slam! How about that!

Next it was a run back to the inshore reefs for white trout, but before we got there Josh picked off a really nice tripletail a.k.a. "blackfish". What a great bonus for Josh, his first tripletail!

At the oyster reefs, a decent bite on white trout turned on, and they quickly boated 12 or so. However, the boys were getting tired so we decided call it a day and head back in to the D'Iberville Marina.

But the day wasn't over with yet, because Josh spotted another tripletail free swimming, and moments later he was doing battle with a bigger specimen.

Low and behold, Josh managed to boat another gorgeous fish, and that was the perfect ending to their successful family outing.

Back at the D'Iberville Marina we took picture, and I then cleaned their fish at the head of the pier. It was a great day with a wonderful family group, and the boys were extremely fun and polite. Great kids Jay!

So gather up the family and give me a call, and let's create some family fishing memories of your own.

Regards,
