Biloxi, MS Fishing- Over 600 Edible Fish Caught This Week!

Capt. Robert L. Brodie
October 19, 2008
Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

On Friday the fishing remained solid, and after a short visit to the reef there were 60 white trout swimming in the live well. My clients were Paul Campo of Atlanta, GA, John Hickoy of Ocean Springs, MS and Donald Thomason from Alabama.

Don was calling the shots on this trip, and decided he also wanted some black drum for the grill. So we picked up and left the white trout biting like mad, and headed into the Back Bay of Biloxi.

At the drum hole the men easily boated 7 grilling drum, and Don finished off the day with a beautiful door mat flounder. It was hard leaving those white trout, but it was a good call by Don because he got his ideal grilling fish, plus the big flounder.

Final tally: 60 white trout and left them biting, 7 black drun, and a huge flounder.

On Saturday, well, it just keep getting better. My clients were Bob Blanton and Wayne Everitt of Clearwater, Florida.

The reef's bite was better than ever, and you couldn't keep a bait in the water for more than a few seconds before the popping corks took the plunge.

Cast after cast, and fish after fish the bite was relentless, and when the smoke cleared the men boated 126 white trout, 10 beautiful speckled trout, and 1 black drum. Bob lost a monster redfish too!

Final tally: 126 white trout, 10 nice speckled trout, and 1 black drum.

The last 5 days of fishing has been extrenely hot, and just 5 minutes from the launch from either the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor or the D'Iberville Marina all of your time is spent fishing not running.

PS: The Florida pompano are still at the barrier islands, and when the winds die down hope to give them another shot.

Regards,
Capt. Robert L. Brodie
