Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Today my clients were Eric Dalsin, Curtis Parsons, and Jacob "JDub" Washbourne, and a windy day it was.

With a front approaching, well, southerly winds had the bay rocking, and after boating 8 sheepshead and losing a big black drum we decided to run into the coastal rivers.
There, a good bite on speckled trout ensued, and before we ran out of bait 7 beautiful specks were boated, as well as two fine freshwater catfish.
Free lined live shrimp were the ticket to our success, and a size 4 4XStrong Gamakatsu Treble Hook with a split shot crimped on two feet above the hook did in the big specks.
If we hadn't run out of bait we would have easily boated more big specks, but it was a good ending to a tough day of fishing. I am booked for Saturday with a regular comeback client and will report back then.

Mississippi Sound Fishing Forecast:

SPRING RUN OF WHITE TROUT & GROUND MULLET HIGHLY ANTICIPATED!
Looking forward to the run of sand sea trout "white trout" and southern kingfish "ground mullet" anytime now. By mid March the bite should be in full swing, and catching a box load in a morning is a common occurence. Top-notch light tackle fun, especially for children, and are excellent eating fish.
Target Species:

white trout, ground mullet
