Biloxi, MS Fishing - Tough Conditions But Still Caught Fish!

Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Saturday was a day on the water I would soon like to forget. Winds were howling, high seas everywhere, and all waters looked like chocolate milk.

However, my clients still wanted to get out on the water and give it a try. Well, 7 white trout, oodles of croakers, and catfish were all that could be scratched up.
Despite the poor conditions and fishing my good friends and comeback clients (Mike Lacy, his son Blake, and friends) still enjoyed a fun day on the wind churned waters.
But it's live and learn, and I was back out again on Monday. This time with a new game plan, and it worked. My clients were Nick Horne, his wife Logan, Greg Buckhalter, and Brittany Bailey.

Found an out of the wind area well out of the bay, and there, although the water conditions were stilll quite murky, a fun bite was encountered.
Started out with bottom rigs, but shortly popping corks were employed, and the bite really turned on.
Cut croaker was the key to success, and it didn't take them long to box 70 really nice white trout, a couple of big ground mullet, and a 5-pound black drum.
Believe me, that was one hell of a catch for conditions on that day, and we left the fish biting. Once things settle a bit look for the bite to really turn on again.
By the way, I am already booked every Saturday in April, so call me soon to book your trip in April.
Looks like another banner year for TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and with an 80% comeback clientele the future looks bright.
Remember, I am a full time guide ready to fish 24/7 so let's go fishing. Tripletail are already showing up (seen 2 already, and had one spit the treble hook), a few cobia have been caught at the barrier islands, and Florida pompano will be showing up soon too.
It's all about to bust loose in south Mississippi soon! I am really excited about this season, and you should be too.
Although we caught loads of fish in March, most fishing will now be conducted out of the bays in the Mississippi Sound, at the barrier islands, and in the Louisiana marsh.
