Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

When my client Ray Starrett of Texas said he would be interested in fishing for Florida pompano at Mississippi's barrier islands, well, he didn't have to twist my arm.

At the D'Iberville Marina, Ray Starrett and sons display some of their catch made aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
So this morning we were cruising across the Mississipp Sound in the Blazer Bay in search of the silver-hued exotics. Once there, in the crystal clear shallows of the isles the bite was fast and furious, however, other species like big line stripping hard-fighting ladyfish and bluefish were patrolling the shallows.
Needless to say, the light tackle action was excellent with plenty of catch and release practiced. And I mean plenty!
However, through all the non stop fish catching action, Ray and his two sons managed to hook and catch 7 Florida pompano. And some really nice fish at that!
These guys simply had a blast, and this out of the ordinary fishing for pompano was a trip they will long remember. These silver-hues speedsters fought hard in the shallows, and made all sort of crazy leaps, especially the bigger fish.
Anyway, the pompano trek paid off, and these fish will be relished when baked and basted in butter and lemon juice.
Also, plenty of light tackle action for white trout, ground mullet, as well as some nice specks and Spanish mackere is available at the Katrina Reef, a short run off Biloxi's mainland.
Bottom line, here at TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS the fishing has been great, so step aboard, and create your on fishing adventures.
Regards,
Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
