Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

As I predicted on my last report the sheepshead have started to move out of the bays and bayous getting ready for their migration offshore to spawn.

Today I found them at a couple of wreckage sites and my clients Ron and Frieda Harrison put the smack down on these hard fighting fish.
This husband and wife duo landed over 25 sheepshead, as well as 2 big black drum. On light tackle, 10-pound-gear, a fun morning on the water was enjoyed by these two delightful anglers.
A few fish were brought back to the dock alive for a few pics, but all were released to fight another day.

Live and dead shrimp was the ticket to success, and although they boated a lot of fish, well, plenty were missed too. But that's what fishing is all about!
The beauty of fishing for the sheepshead and black drum is that it's merely a few minutes to the fishing grounds in protected waters. Thus, you spend all of your time fishing and not running about.
Look for this run to last through mid March, but by that time the white trout and ground mullet invasion will start, and plenty of anglers will want to get in on that fish catching spree.
A fish on every cast and no limits, a great way to set up a big fish fry that's for sure. Anyway, fishing was good today, and have more trips this week and will report back then.
