Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

With duck season ending on Sunday, well, it's back to fishing 24/7.

Being a full-time guide I am ready to fish whenever you are no matter the time of day or weather.

Here in south Mississippi there are plenty of protective bays, bayous, and rivers to fish for anyone that just hast to get out of the house.

Our duck season was less than stellar, but managed to shoot a few divers, and pull out some banner hunts. The hunt of the season has to go to Grieg Oster and his sons Nick and Marcus.

Limits of big redheads and greater scaups made this family group very happy, especially since Crieg had just flew in from time in Afghanastan.
A magnificent welcome home hunt!

Right now when weather permits excellent sight fishing for big redfish and black drum can be found at the barrier islands.

Recently we hammered the big fish on 10-pound test in 2 to 3 feet of water, and these brutes provide exciting shallow water angling.

In the bays black drum (some over 40-pounds) and sheepshead can be found, and a bite on specks in coastal rivers is available too.
