Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

With fishing trips down a bit in the winter, well, my spare time is filled by running professionally guided diving duck hunts on the Mississippi Sound.

Our boat is a 19-foot G3 powered by a 90hp 4-stroke Yamaha, and we hunt over 100 diving duck decoys gigged on long lines.

We These trips go for $450 a day (1 to 3 hunters), and we'll hunt all day if need be, or you're a glutton for punishment like I am.

Here is some picks of my latest hunt on Saturday. The hunters were Crieg Oster and his sons Nick and Marcus.

They limited out on scaups and redheads, and two of the birds will become trophy mounts. Just an excellent day spent gunning on the big waters of the Mississippi Sound.
