Gearing Up For 2011 Fishing Season

Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Been taking it easy for the last two weeks, and mostly getting ready for one of the biggest catches of the new year.

Well, it turned out to be a fine 6-pound 11-ounce specimen, and it was a whopping 19.5-inches long.

Definately a keeper...not a throwback! No it wasn't a fish, but my second granddaughter, Liliana, a beautiful baby girl.
Missed 4 or 5 trips this month due to poor weather day, and me coming down with a terrible cold/sinus infection. On well, life happens!
By the way, it's looking to be another great season aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and the calls are already coming in. Enough of that oil spill talk, and let's get back to the serious nature of our business, and that's catching a mess of fish.
Last season was another great year despite the oil spill, and if not for the media, well, I would have ran practically every day.

However, I'll take the blessings that have been given, and keep on working harder than ever to make TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS the most polite, productive, and professional light tackle fishing service in south Mississippi.
There is talk of me getting a bigger boat, but if it happens that will be months from now. But it sure would be nice for those rough rides to the isles, and going after bigger species in the Gulf of Mexico. We'll see!

But no matter, my 2170 Blazer Bay has welcomed thousands upon thousands of fish over her gunnels in the last few years, including over 8000 white trout in 2010 alone, and yes, I cleaned every one of them.

Will duck hunt the last days of the season this weekend, and then it's back to promoting TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS full speed ahead.

Oh yeah...be sure to check out my fishing articles, reports, and new advertisment in the Coastal Angler Magazine starting this month.

From now on I'll be doing work for them on a monthly basis. The magazine is free, and has about 360,000 copies monthly nation wide, and about 20,000 in our immediate area. Looks like fun, and more work to add to my 1000 published articles and photos to date.

Just ordered more new ST. Croix rods too, making sure you'll always have a top-notch rod in your hand at all times. I am really excited about the upcoming season, and ready to delve into the fish, fun, and sun south Mississippi has to offer once again.
By the way, it's best to book you fishing trips well in advance now to be sure you'll have the specific day or days needed when you come down to the coast. A $100 deposit will hold each day you select.
OK my friends, until the next fishing report keep it safe out there, and hope to see you soon.
Regards and many thanks to all,
