Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Lately the bite has been really hot in the inshore waters, and the barrier islands have been excellent too.

The bite on white trout and ground mullet have been easily filling up ice chests, and with no limits on these tasty bottom dwellers, well, the light tackle action is superb.

Back at the barrier islands the Florida pompano have showed up in good numbers, and on calm days we've experience some fantastic light tackle action in the gin-clear shallows. These speedy fish fight like crazy, and are considered some of the finest eating fish on the planet.

Just a difference experience when it comes to catching Florida pompano. Plus, we've caught a number of big gulf kingfiah aka "whiting" in the surf too, a much welcomed bonus species.

As for big fish, well, the monster drum have arrived, and we can be catching these monsters just a few minutes from the dock. On light tackle these fish provide big gane fishing in the bay. Great fun, exciting, and make for a great photo opportunity.

Had a good run on tripletail a while back, and looking to another run in the near future.

The new 224 BlackJack has been performing great, been keeping her decks bloody, and clients have really enjoyed fishing out of the new TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS.
Sorry for not posting sooner, but I've been really busy, and starting tomorrow will be fishing every day of the month.
Be sure to check out my web site because it gets the first report of the trips. Many thanks to all, and looking forward to another great summer of fishing here in south Mississippi.
