Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Word is that the Louisiana marsh fishing south of Mississippi's mainland is heating up. Large catches of really big specks has been steady in the last week and a half.
Pfiefer Key, Tugboat Key, and Brush Island has been hot spots. Popping corks with a soft-plastic suspended below has been the ticket to success. Will be running down there Sunday to test the waters for myself, and will report back after that adventure.
Also, in about 2 weeks I'll be booking trips down to those fish filled waters too, and I'll keep you informed once I renew my 2008 Louisiana Guide License. This is a great place for reds and speck, and it will be good down there for the rest of the season.
Have plenty of local trips coming up next week, and will continue to fish the local reefs in the Mississippi Sound for those tasty southern king fish a.k.a. "ground mullet" and sand sea trout a.k.a. "white trout", as well as flounder and possibly a big bull redfish.
The small sharks and big gafftopsail catfish will be showing up soon too, and kids really get a kick out of catching them on light tackle. Looking forward to running trips to the Cajun Territory, and I'll keep all informed on the hot fishing in that marsh environ.
Remember...life is short...let's fish!
Regards,
Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
