Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

This has been a real busy week with taking the guys from Shallow Water Angler on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday fishing along south Mississippi.

The filming went really well, and Jeff Weakley and Paul Farnsworth were an extreme pleasure to work with. In all, I feel they got a good taste of our great fishery, and the coast's southern hospitality.

Looking forward to when the show airs on the Outdoor Channel and a few other outdoor networks. And the shark scene shoud be a hoot too!

On Thursday took Mary Ann Mcurley and family to the Louisiana marsh, and they brought home 50 or more white trout and a few specks. The water was muddy and blowing out of the east hard early, but we managed to tip our jigs with shrimp and box a fine catch of the white ones.

On Friday I had a great 3-man crew, and these gentlemen landed a big jack pushing 30-pounds on light tackle, a couple of big specks caught on live croakers, and nearly 50 big roe-laden white trout and ground mullet on some deeper reefs.

Found those fish late, but better late than never. Also, a fine tripletail was spotted, but he slowly dove and never came back up. Would have waited him out, but we needed to get home.
Fishing is good right now, a real diverse catch is for the taking. Can do inshore bottom fishing with a bonus shot at a few big specks or tripletail, wade fishing at the beautiful barrier islands for specks and reds, or a trip to the Louisiana marsh.
Hey, you name it an we do it at TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. By the way, I am already getting a lot of calls about our duck hunting charters, and can set up a "cast and blast" outing too, as well as some teal hunting in September.
Remember...life is short...let's fish!
Regards,
Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
