Mississippi Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Just finished up three days in a row of fishing here in south Mississippi, and yes, its been hammer time on the big redfish at Mississippi's barrier islands.

On Friday I had the Scott Favell group from southern Illinois aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and man did they have a blast sight fishing the redfish.

The gentlemen managed to box 6 gorgeous fish, and well as 2 big sheepshead. Casting to the big schools of reds patrolling the shallow bars was extremely exciting.

They wanted to go for two days in a row, but I had the Lieutenant Governor on Saturday so I sent them out with Capt. Cuevas.

They got a break in the weather, and they guys got another shot at the fish landing 4 and some black drum too.

Congrats guys, and come back and see us again!

On Saturday it was cold and windy, and Mississippi's Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant and friends had a short window to fish.
Thus, we opted to fish in the bay, and the Lieutenant Governor caught every single fish. A small redfish and a couple of hefty sheepshead delivered the bite.
This was basically a rundown trip for our adventures to come, but all of the gentlemen including Charles Porter, Donnie Massey, and Bob McKay were an extreme pleasure to fish with. I can tell were are going to have a blast in the months to come.
On Sunday it was back to the barrier islands, and my clients Jim Conn and his father John from Minnesota had a fishing trip to talk about for some time to come.
The redfish were everywhere, and massive schools of anywhere from 100 to 500 fish were there for the taking. And as one might imagine it didn't take long for the 2 gentlemen to each catch their 3 fish per angler limits.
Heck, we were back at the D'Iberville Marina before noon, and by 1 o'clock I was back home relaxing.
By the way, John was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago, and was given 6 months to live. Hell, the man is still going strong living life to its fullest.
Men like John are an inspiration to all of us letting us known that we should all live life to its fulleast each and every day enjoying our family, friends, and all of the pleasures the great outdoors has to offer. Keep going strong John!
Well, there you have it. Fish are out there for the taking and all I need is a bit of calm weather, and anglers willing to hunt down the massive schools of fish. Want in on this action?
Well, simply give me a call at (228) 697-7707 or shoot me an e-mail at [email protected], and be sure to check out my web site at www.teambrodiecharters.com.
Regards and many thanks to all,
Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS
