Flounder On The Points

Capt. Barry Brown
June 8, 2008
Pascagoula River - Saltwater Fishing Report

Flounder have been the easiest to locate and have been biting live cocohoes and jigs. They are in the natural ambush positions on the points along the river banks at the mouths of bayous and lakes. All of the flounder we are catching are nice ones and some are up to 3 pounds.

The specs have been a little elusive lately. We are catching some on jigs under popping corks and a few more on live bait. They are scattered and have not been worth the time to go after. We'll keep trying and will report when they start doing better.

We have also had some trouble catching numbers of redfish over the past two weeks, but that may have just changed. Friday we only caught 2 reds, but today we limited out with 9 in about half an hour. These were all nice ones weighing between 5 and 8 pounds.
