Reds and Flounder Best Bet

Capt. Barry Brown
August 11, 2008
Pascagoula River - Saltwater Fishing Report

Speckled trout fishing is still slow as is common in the Pascagoula River marsh during the hot months. You can get a dozen or so if you work at it, but they just aren't bunched up right now. The specks will start showing up in good numbers in a few weeks.

Redfish have been in a few of my favorite holes over the past two weeks. However, they have not been consistently there. We'll catch several on one trip and none the next. Summer fishing just lacks the consistency you get during the fall months.

The flounder have been very consistent. We have a lot of flounder in the lakes and on the river banks right now. The best bet is live bait and moving from point to point a lot to cover more area.
