Mississippi Sound & the Pascagoula River Marsh

Capt. Barry Brown

Pascagoula River - Saltwater Fishing Report

Big Trout and Reds Peaking

We are definitely in the peak of the fall season with limits of reds and three to six pound speckled trout every trip. Today I had three fishermen who caught a limit of five to eight pound reds within about two hours on live menhaden. Yesterday we caught several large specks mixed in with the reds.

This time of year we fish every day whether chartered or not because there is so much action and the fish are so big. No matter what pattern or bait you choose we can find a school of big specks, reds or both.

From now until mid-November we will be using both live bait and artificial to catch limits of reds and trout. Top water trout action will stay productive until the cold weather gets here, and the trout will be BIG.

Let's go fishing!
