Mississippi Sound & the Pascagoula River Marsh

Capt. Barry Brown
April 4, 2006
Pascagoula River - Saltwater Fishing Report

Bigger Trout Moving In

We are catching some nice 3 pound specks on the reefs with artificial cocahoe under popping corks. The bigger trout are cruising the reefs feeding on finger mullet. We are catching 8 or so of these per trip.

There are schools of smaller trout in larger numbers on some of our other reefs. About half of the school trout are keepers, but we get a lot of action out of them.

The redfish are hitting top water lures on the reefs and live minnows in the lakes. The reds are very plentiful, and run between 5 and 10 pounds.

The flounder are still not quite in yet. We catch a few each trip, but so far no big numbers.
